Australian Bush Poets Association

Presents
National Junior Online
Bush Poetry Competition 2008

for Australian school students or anyone from 6 to 18 years of age

b

You may not be a Henry Lawson, Banjo Paterson or Dorothea Mackellar to-day but if you start now you could be the poet of tomorrow. Lawson, Paterson and many other poets were the authors of the cool jokes, stories, and yarns in their day. As well as writing their stories in rhyme they were known hang out with their mates and tell each other stories while others listened with amazement. If you are between six and eighteen years old and want to be cool and impress you friends with awesome stories, then start now by entering this competition. You can write about anything that has to do with Australia, Australians or the Australian way of life using rhyme and metre.

For further information contact:

The first prize in each section will be Jim Haynes' new book,
The Book of Australian Popular Rhymed Verse
and the second and third prizes other bush poetry books for young people.
