Really I'm not sure why I wrote this but it's honest and I've come to believe honesty is what matters.

Maybe this will carry on to something else; mostly likely it won't but who knows?

Driven by expulsion
From life left unperturbed?
Completed; less; compulsion
Now stalls a storied world.
I never really rendered
My hope to find a way,
Bleatingly surrendered
Callously remade....

I told you guys I'm not a bush poet by the rules!
But my works rhyme and with meter; I can't help it if I delve a little deeper.

Good to see you back here Adam - its been along time between drinks

Its good - probably one of those ones that you put in your kick and then later you think to yourself -aaah that's where it goes. Having said that it' still a nice little profound statement all on its own - not sure why but to me it is pointing towards the re surfacing of the thylacine - Tassie Tiger. There was talk that they had sufficient dna to clone the species .

Cheers

Maureen

Welcome back Adam,

Why do you leave it so long between 'hits'? Now I'll go and read it again.

G'day Zondrae, honestly I've just lost the enthusiasm to write. Lacking inspiration or a muse or something I guess.

However with that said. I've just finished another. So maybe I've found it again I don't know.

Adam. I know what you mean about lacking enthusiasm, I get the same.

This is just guesswork on my part, but I wonder if reading is the antidote to inspirational doldrums.

I'll make a suggestion, read Dylan Thomas's poem Fern Hill ( it's on the web ) or his other one Do Not Go Gently Into That Good Night, see if they spark anything in your poetic soul. They should ;) :) .

I reckon sometimes just not looking for the enthusiasm and inspiration works best , I am always surprised where the words come from at times . On the other hand I have also written some good stuff (according to me) after reading some of the works of Ogilvey , Lawson et al so it does work sometimes I guess

Write when the writing is there and dont stress the times it isnt , unless of course you have recieved a six figure advance form your publisher ;)

Exactly Marty, most of my inspiration comes from the music I listen to. I haven't bought anything new lately, so that's probably the reason. But when I do get some new tunes no doubt the pen will move again.

Till then I just enjoy the ones I have
