Another one for the Grandkids, bit of a nonsense one!
’ones
I tripped on a scone in Scone one day
Yes, tripped in Scone and hurt my scone!
The scone in Scone on the pavement lay
I stubbed that scone and I was gone!
I’d stopped on a trip through Scone for tea
(But not the trip in Scone on the scone
For that trip hurt my scone you see
And that scone trip was later on!)
A cup of tea and scone was a must
When stopping on a trip through Scone,
But then I saw that scone was just
Not a scone, but a scone-like stone!
(that is, the scone that tripped me up
Oh yes that scone-like pavement stone
Not the scone I’d had with my cup
Of tea that day when stopped in Scone!)
The scone was a stone so I was wrong
About the scone that I’d tripped on
And though my scone didn’t hurt for long
I dislike a stone, that looks like a scone!
I’ll always stop for a scone in Scone
Along with a nice hot cup of tea
And if I don’t see a scone-like stone
In Scone, you know what! that’ll suit me!
