Homework - 28/03/2011 The Hand that Rocks the Cradle
I'm not sure if I have more to add to this poem, but that's for a later date!!
Wrote this on the way home today after babysitting my beautiful new grand-daughter, Lila.
The Hand That Rocks The Cradle
© Irene Conner 20/03/2011
Mesmerized by knowing eyes
held in sweet embrace.
Heart strings gripped by mewing cries;
an angels sacred face.
Captured by eternal love,
owned forever more.
Souls that mold like silken glove
in ethereal rapport.
Bound by ties that can’t be broke;
ties one can’t inveigle.
Nana’s hand, with loving stroke,
the hand that rocks the cradle.

What goes around, comes around.

G'day Irene,
Beautiful!
I've learned a new word today. I love it when I learn something, specially words. I should spend some time paging through the dictionary. How did you find it? on a rhyming website? It is one I have never heard before.
Thanks for both the loving Nanna poem and the new word.

Truly beautiful Irene. There's nothing like a baby to love and treasure.

Thanks everyone.
Zondrae - I don't know where I learnt the word from - it is one that I have known for quite a while, but don't worry, I had to check the dictionary just to make sure I was in fact using it in the right context!!!
You've got it Dave!!! Obviously your little darling has learnt the art well!!!
Isn't she gorgeous!! And sitting up so well also. Did you teach her to read????
