Homework f/e 14/1 ATBP - And the Band Played

AND THE BAND PLAYED (A Throwaway)
© John Peel 27/1/2011

And the band played the song, ‘A New Topic Is Due’
that included the words, “Tell us all what to do,
when the message comes through we will sit down and write,
we will stick to the rules and will have a fortnight
to get the job out of the way
We’re asking now what do you say?
We await your instructions to guide us
to get something stirring inside us.”

Goodonya John,

I can't post my poem because it could be competition material with a little work. That's two in two weeks.
I used to say some of my poems were 'throw aways' . Then our Mother Hen said there is no such thing. Even the most humble verse deserves to be filed away. You never know when the same situation will arise and then you will say, "Now why didn't I keep that one." And even more annoying - "what were the exact words?"

G'day Zondrae

I called this one a throwaway because there is very little that I could use it for in its current format, but I will keep it all the same. There might be something in there that I can use at a later time. It was a reminder that we are due for a new topic more than anything else.

Regards

Thanks John,

I have been a bit slack in responding to the topics posted in this section. I have been, and usually am, flat out. It seem that I always have some pressing task or other to complete. Wouldn't it be good if you could insert an elastic section in time, and stretch it out on occasion. That way we could always have time for all the good thing we wish to do. This includes practising our musical instruments and writing poetry as well as watching the cricket.

G'day Maureen

It's good to see that it's done its job (I'll have to see if I can contribute to the new topics).

Regards
