Homework 15/6/20 'Fifteen Miles From Minderoo'

I don’t know where this sprung from, but I was thinking of what the prompts requested for next months homework and this popped into my mind.
It’s not exactly what was asked for but at least it’s supposed to be a song. Although it’s meant to be sung by a girl – any takers?
It's a bit mushy!

Good little country song Terry. Over in the barbarian wastes of the east a gimlet is a boring tool but I found out it is a WA tree.

And thanks for reminding me of what Gimlets mean over your way.
Over here they are also a lovely tree found all through the goldfields and most of the pastoral country as well.

As you can see it was a bit of a rush job, written in about an hour - I have probably overdone the 'Billy' thing a bit.
Might see if I can spruce it up a bit - starting with a different gum tree - watch this space.

Well I like it and I thought a Gimlet was a drink a cocktail made from Gin and Lime juice - not sure where that bit fitted in but no matter.

Try interspersing the Billy with an endearment, it will soften it a bit eg - Darling, Sweetheart, Precious.
