Just fantastic, Sue! Well done for having the courage to tell your story, and for doing it so poignantly.

I can relate - I also suffered bullying at school. Although it became mildly physical, thankfully there was no serious injury. The interesting thing is - I attended an all-female high school, and my abuse came from a group of three girls my own age. There was nothing more intimidating than being cornered by them. Talk about look over your shoulder and peek around corners before venturing forth!! Sad to see so little has changed these days - rather, the advent of social media has made it worse.

I also love that last verse - as Maureen says, it really does stand alone, but in context of the whole poem, is even more powerful.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Cheers
Shelley
