Re: Something to contemplate
Bit like ???
Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

The 2nd generation improves what the 1st generation builds. If the 3rd generation doesn't stuff it up, the 4th one will.

Ah Manfred! Miley Cyrus...now there is class! The hope of the side that will lead us to a new intellectual awakening...If she doesn't perhaps her Dad will.
I suppose from time immemorial old men (like me) have despaired at what they judge to be the inferior cultural pursuits of the younger generation, and I must admit I do wonder if the young have the intellectual where withal to produce another Lawson, Paterson, Kipling, et al.
I have tried to read the people critically acclaimed today as great song writers and poets but in nearly all cases I have been disappointed. There are some great ideas but usually always very poorly expressed.
However, as I said before when I agreed with Marty's original post: someone will emerge.
It has been forever thus!

Exactly right Marty. I suspect that everyone is as much a product of their times and circumstances as their supposed ability and artistic significance.
Who would be interested to-day in an emerging group of young blokes with bouffant hairstyles and dandy suits singing with straight faces " She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah "

What is the message ?

Maybe not only a different way, but a different message.Martyboy wrote: Different times require different ways of getting the message across

Re: Something to contemplate
So what we really need is a Youtube clip that we can download and share on a Facebook page of Hully and Mannie singing Muzza's Turbulence while twerking. Hey

We might just have the game sewn up
That would be one Booty licious bush poem beyonce all expectations
