Irene that is simply delightful. Thanks for posting it.
I have planted the sticky wattle and the golden wattle down the driveway. Can't have much of a garden around the house due to poor soil so I decided to fence an area off and plant along the driveway. I keep adding bits and pieces as the time goes by.
Acacia Pycantha is native to our area - it is the Golden Wattle that is our national emblem. Not much of a tree really, - it is tall and thin and scraggly (grows in poor soils) but if you plant a lot together they create quite an impression. They grow beside the road between Kilmore and Broadford and on the freeway between Broadford and Seymour. I get a buzz every time I take either of those trips at this time of the year.
Thanks again Irene.

Re: Spring
G/Day Heather, Hey mate is this the same little meandering bubbling brook, would be fun crossing this in an old ford wagon.

The exact same Dave. Which is why the drive is a bit washed away Bob. Looks a bit different now.
It's always a flash flood though - you can watch it rise and fall. You just have to make sure you're on the right side when it happens or you are stuck! The first time it flooded I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and scared that I would not be able to get out to have my (breech) baby. It took about 1/4 of the bridge away so after the second flood we had the top concreted like a ford so that the water can flow up and over. Works a treat.
