Our flag

Post by Neville Briggs » Tue Mar 29, 2011 4:45 pm

The discussion on the flag reminded me of one of my little true yarns. I put it here not to spoil the serious thread. ( I've probably put it on before, can't remember )

On the main road, Victoria Road, in Sydney I pulled over a motorist for speeding. He pulled to the side of the road then drove right off into the shadows in the driveway of a disused service station. I approached his car rather nervously. he looked out the window very sheepishly and said to me " Sorry, I had to come here, I am embarrassed because I've been to a fancy dress do and I'm wearing my costume, nothing but an Australian flag. A superficial inspection confirmed his ensemble was as stated.
Didn't give him a ticket.

Good to see you did your patriotic duty Neville and give him a friendly salute and waved him on. Well done.
