I hope everyone is having a marvellous time in Crookwell.
Wish I was there also.....bugger "real life" for interfering with poetry!

Goodonya Marty,
you performed very well. You should be proud of you efforts alongside the 'big boys'. It is very daunting to have to follow a Champion performer on stage. Look out next year!

Marty...i saw those lies you were telling you fibber !!! it was your idea to go to the pub...you led john and I astray...you have destroyed our reputations in Crookwell.. they think we are the town drunks..getting home at ungodly hours...only to also rise at ungodly hours ...spud runs a tight ship ..late to bed early to rise...shame you didn't come back to spuds last night..Jim Brown , Sue, John Peel and I had a sing along..John did his Elvis impersonation ...only this time he was singing them..Jim Brown sang some lovelies and Sue was harmonising with us..the only thing we were lacking was your baritone voice..we had some yarn spinning from Frank and a great time was had by all..We had a poetry session and more yarns this morning over breakfast at Spuds..even got to have a bit of a writing workshop..this morning..finished off at the Services Club for lunch and another poetry session in between sessions by a local Irish Band who were excellent....was a great weekend...wouldn't have missed it for the world..It was good to get to meet you at last Marty...can't wait till next year..looking forward to catching up with you in Tamworth.

Tom you missed the best part Saturday night! Will and Mary Moody took Jim Brown to the station in Goulburn for the midnight train - only it turns out that Jim got the time wrong and missed the train to Melbourne and had to come back to Crookwell.
So, we had a few drinks (and you must not believe anything Mary says!), talked poetry and laughed (and laughed) until the rooster crowed. What a brilliant night!
Quite a few very tired people on Sunday. Not helped by the fact that some people didnt get to bed at all because the footy started at 4.30am and there really wasn't any point in going to bed at that point.
Sunday night and Monday morning those left remaining at Murphy's Inn were entertained by the one and only Garry Lowe. What an amazing man - meeting and listening to Garry's tales and poems was one of the highlights of the trip for Sue and me.
This was without doubt an amazing weekend. You'll just have to come next year and find out for yourselves!

Well, can't argue with any of that Tom and Heather. I knew Morriset would take some beating, but Boy Oh Boy, what fun.
Arrived at Spud Murphys Fri to the warmest welcome and was so honoured to meet people like Jim Brown, Terry Reagan, Gary Lowe,Marty Boyce, Zondrae, King Peter Mace
and to catch up again with Frank Daniels, John Peel, Tom McIlveen and Will and his lovely wife Mary.
Then off to Franks tribute,
back to an enjoyable nights entertainment from some very talented poets[I've adopted Gary Lowe as my new "Dad"]
thoroughly enjoyed the singalong. Poets breakfast early sat then off to the competition, sooo impressed with the talent on show saturday.
For a novice like me there was so much to take in and learn
and the feedback from the pros was so helpful. Another BIG night sat night-sun morning, went to bed when the Roosters started crowing
[ I had to stay up to keep an eye on Heather
]Poets breakfast sun, then off to the club for more fun with the Irish Band, even did a solo of "Galway Bay"
with the band. Then back to a wonderful night of stories and poetry from Gary Lowe[that man is incredible]
Thank you everyone for an enjoyable weekend, we have already booked our bed for next year. Congratulations to all the winners.
Wonderful to have Heather staying with us tonight, she is the most Bonza Girl!!
Cheers Everyone

Well, I'm glad to hear that YOU lot all had fun!
Me and Bob and feeling a bit left out up here. Although, Heather did kind of include me in the weekend by texting, so thanks for thinking of me Heather. Pity we don't have more events in Qld ...
Seriously though, it is wonderful that people are travelling and meeting each other.
And congratulations to all the placegetters in the comp!

Just walked in the door after leaving Tumut at 9.40am this morning. What a weekend! It'll take me a week to get over it..
