That leads me to another interesting thought, did any of the poets write for posterity or just to speak about their experience to others who shared their experience ?

Marty, it's an attractive idea, and I guess it's the last refuge of all struggling artists. "They'll appreciate me when I'm gone! And it'll be too late then! You can't interview a dead man/woman!"
The problem is, in our chosen genre, at least as it appears to me, that pretty much all of the poets we now recognise as great were acknowledged as such within their own life-times. Can you think of any exceptions? I can't.

The festive season will be upon us before we know it and I reckon 'A Bush Christmas' by C.J. would be a good one. I found it an easy one to learn and it is always well received amongst friends at Xmas time. To me it is one of his best in regard to painting word pictures. (just my opinion)
