Here are a few limerick tips.

A limerick is a five-line poem with a strict form (AABBA), originally popularized in English by Edward Lear, which intends to be witty or humorous, and is sometimes obscene with humorous intent.

The standard form of a limerick is a stanza of five lines, with the first, second and fifth having eight or nine syllables and rhyming with one another, and the third and fourth having five or six and rhyming separately. Lines are usually written in the anapaestic meter, but can also be amphibrachic.

A lady can make her hips wiggle
and coins on her skirt ring and jiggle
she can gracefully sway
though she finds with dismay
her back is beginning to niggle!

Well done Heather,

At last someone who understands that there is a strict pattern for a Limerick! So many people think that you can stick as many words in the middle as you feel like. I have stayed away from writing Limericks because the ones I write are not at all bawdy. Also, when I see Limerick competitions at Festivals I make sure to give them a very wide birth. So thanks Heather for setting out the 'rules'. I might have a go now.
