Have I ever said "thank you"?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say Thank You to you all. Why? Because as you know, I love bush poetry, but I'm kinda out in the sticks here (yes, I've got Bob just down the road and now Margy just over the hill), but pretty much I don't get to many festivals or poetry breakfasts, etc and often feel out of the loop. My family isn't interested in poetry (they would rather stick their fingers down the throats), so I don't get much support from them. They are slowly getting more tolerant, or just plain resigned that I won't stop. I'm an embarrassing mother who does poetry, "OMG how embarrassment!!!"

This forum is my link to the outside world. Through this keyboard and screen I have made friends, not just invisible computer friends, but real people who/whom/whatever that I have met and enjoyed meeting. Without this forum, I would not have had the opportunity to meet them. Without this forum, I would have nobody to share my poetry with, and even if I never get to meet most of you, I still want to say "thank you" for the communication (even though it's faceless, except for a few silly avatars here and there).

Having someone to talk "poetry" (and other silly rubbish) with is great. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!

Love ya's all ...

Kym I couldn't agree more. I'm a bit out in the sticks too and we don't have writers or poetry groups nearby to go to and poetry events are so, so far away. So you, and all the other isolated poets have become my friends. All say aaaaahhhhh! And I do feel like I know most of you and when I had my trip to Ipswich, Rockhampton and Bundaberg recently it was like greeting old friends. I got to stay with Maureen, meet Leonie, Manfred, Bob, Neil and others and stay with Kym and got lots of hugs! I didn't for one minute feel like any of you were strangers because we have chatted, bantered and shared our poetry and love of poetry and our lives for some time now. We all seem to have a quirky sense of humour - a prerequisite for a bush poet I think.

Long may the banter, the sharing (and caring), and friendships continue. :)

And thank you Kymmie!

Are you whispering Manfred, cos I can barely read that writing ... when did you put you-know-what on me? Huh, I didn't even notice! If you were trying to offend me, it didn't work, sorry!?!?!

To be honest Manfred, you are one of my favourite memories. I tell everyone about the special trophy you made for me years ago. ;)
