I can't containment myself, want to share this email I just received from the Australian Songwriters Association ...
In short, one of my pieces has been shortlisted to go into the second round of judging in the Australia category.

Dear ASA Contestant
Thank you for your patience in waiting for the results of the 2011 ASA Australian Songwriting Contest. There were a great many entries to process! We’re please to announce though, that there was an excellent standard throughout.
It is also very exciting to be able to inform you that you are amongst the group of songwriters who have had some of their entries progress to the second stage of judging in this year’s contest!!! This is very exciting because it is hard to be short-listed in such a big competition, so you should definitely take a bow! Congratulations! You are in the group from which the Top 25 will be chosen. This list will be posted on the ASA Website in the next 2-3 weeks...fingers crossed you will also be included in that selection.
To simplify the notification process, we are not specifying at this point which of your songs have been shortlisted, but instead want to let you know how many of your compositions have made it through. Thus, the exact number of times you receive this email, will indicate how many successful entries you have had go through in the Australia Category.
Please also note that the National Songwriting Awards will be on Wed 30 November in Sydney. Full details are now on the homepage of our website, with early bird discounts currently available.
Kind regards
