congratulations kym..for 1st in open division..ellis campbell for 2nd ( and 2@ highly commendeds). and myself, tom mcilveen 3rd... .david campbell, brenda joy, tony hammill and myself..one highly commendeds each//. a great honour to be recognised out of 1599 entries in all categories..of the' ipswich poetryfeast competition'...I was honoured and thrilled to have received a 3rd and a highly commended ..confirmed today when i opened the mailbox..i didn't know i had won anything at ipswich or i would have gone up for the presentation...i had only been told that i was a finalist and with so many entries in all those categories i figured it was a long way to go for just a 'long shot ...maybe'...ANYWAY WELL DONE KYM...YOU DESERVE IT !! IT IS TRULY A BEAUTIFUL POEM....

And congratulations to you too. I'm surprised they didn't contact you to attend the presentations. I'm sure they call everyone? It was also lovely to get the opportunity to spend the weekend with Maureen and Leonie and check out Ipswich as a tourist.

Don't know how they missed you Tom I also believed they contacted all winners. Maybe it went astray in the post If I had known they were stuck at 1599 entries I would have dropped another one up ... hate those odd numbers although not a bad one you can divide it by 3

A 3rd is not IMO to be sneezed at either. Good on you
