I just spent a half hour sitting back with a rum and cola listening to an old tape of Bobby Miller, what a character. and still got Jack Drake and Greg North to go as well as Lenard Teale, gonna be a great arvo.

I reckon Bobby might have filled in quite easily for the real one Marty, cause in bush poetry circles he was God anyway.


Never got to meet Bobby but have not heard anyone who did speak a bad word about him.

At first I thought it sounded as though Bob was having a swig again, but upon second reading, it's obviously God who's kicking back and relaxing ...

"God just spent a half hour sitting back with a rum ... etc"

If it was Bob having a drink, it would have read:

"God, I just spent a half hour sitting back with a rum ..."

The dreaded apostrophe strikes again.

Fixed it now so there.

Ummm ... that's a comma (,) R'obert ... looks like an apostrophe ('), but it's more down-to-earth!
