Poetry Section ABPA Website
Hello everyone.
I have been getting a few questions coming in so...
Just letting everyone know that the Poetry Section comprising first prize winning poems in ABPA approved and/or affiliated competitions from 2008 up to the present which was commenced in February, is now compiled and has been sent to Manfred for the technical link-up process.
Apart from omissions due to inability to trace a few of the poets or to a poet (for various valid reasons) not wishing to have some of his/her poem/poems published on the Web, the collection is complete up to October 2012 and contains over 140 poems from 40 plus poets. For each year there are approximately 30 competitions listed.
As new competitions are judged now, to allow me to keep on preparing the works and records for Manfred to transfer to the Web, it would be much appreciated if anyone winning a competition could send the details and their poem to me via email to save the often very lengthy process of my trying to trace winners and poems. If you happen to be at a competition where a non-forum poet wins the written (open not novice) I would be delighted if you would act as sleuth on my behalf.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to the poems or the records, please direct them to me. If you have any questions relating to policy or progress, please direct them to Manfred.
It is a wonderful collection and it is particularly gratifying that so many poems from our outstanding octogenarians have been able to be included.
Thank you for your patience.
Kind regards,
Brenda Joy

G'day Brenda,
I add my thanks to you for the hours of tedious work that must have been involved in the compiling of this resource. Lets hope that future competition organisers remember to pass the results on to you.
