Here's hoping all our friends and their families caught up in these terrible floods are safe, and let us also hope our Governments are at least as generous to our own people as they are to overseas disasters. The Australian people will do their best as they always do.

To Maureen and Leonie Maureen I know your place is not far from the river and the flood waters does come up your street and I hope things do not get to bad for you but as for Leonie I do not know her location but I hope things do not deteriate to much for her good luck to both you both and to any others that may be in a predicoment because of the rain

I agree Bill. Maureen could be in a bit of strife. She's not that far from the river. Fingers crossed for Maureen and Leonie too if she is near the water.

I am still dry at the moment but there is a creek at the bottom of the road that feeds off the Bremer River and it is in major flood and the bottom of the road is cut now so we can't actually get out. The water is about three houses away and rising so unless we get lucky I think we will end up with water through the house. The peak is still some hours away and it's getting a bit scary, at the rate it is rising I wouldn't be surprised if we end up having to be taken out by boat. We have one of those, it might come in handy.

I don't know how Maureen is faring, but her street is listed on the council's website as one that will be affected by the flood waters. She has a high set house, so she might be ok, here's hoping.

All the neighbours are out on the street watching the water creeping up. They have put white markers a metre apart on the road and reckon the water has risen one metre in 10 minutes, but that is lengthwise not depth. Just about everyone lower than us has already left, they were sensible and got out while they still could.
