What is a 'Forward'....? What it isn't is a 'Foreword' ie what is said...be-fore the rest of the words in a book.

What is a 'Copywrite'....? What it isn't is 'Copyright'. ie the right/s to your copy, your manuscript.

When can we have a spell check on the forum... please Manfred.
I spend about a quarter of my computer time manually checking my Macquarie. One day I will post as first written and I bet noone will know what I am trying to say.

A lady (of a certain hair colour) asked her friend "In text speak, what does IDK mean?"
to which her friend replied "I Don't Know." The first girl said "Oh, I'll never fimd out. Everyone I have asked has said they didn't know."

But Copyright
Copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted to the author or creator of an original work, including the right to copy, distribute and adapt the work. Copyright does not protect ideas, only their expression. In most jurisdictions copyright arises upon fixation and does not need to be registered.

Foreword and forward I have heard of
The noun foreword refers to a preface or an introductory note, often one composed by a person other than the author. Forward is an adjective and an adverb with several meanings related to direction.

Zondrae surely your computer program has spellcheck on it - it is a basic on most programs to my knowledge...maybe Heathers Darren could tell us for sure, but mine comes up automatically just as it does when you post anything on site - if it is wrong it underlines it - you then just right click on it and it shows you the correct spelling. Even my really old computer had this feature.

The only time you might run into trouble would be with the Americanization of some words but I think we are all pretty clued into those anyway

Not knowing how your computer is set up Zondrae I'm probably not enough help.
However if you are working in a program such as Word, you can click 'help' at the top of the screen and then type in spellcheck and a drop down will take you to Spelling and Grammar. Follow the details and you should have what you wanted. I hope.

On second and third thoughts, Zondrae, I now think you meant for a spellcheck on the Forum.
I type all my posts and replies in word to take advantage of the Spellchecker and then post the completed subject to the forum.

Always use the English (Australian) spell checker on Microsoft Word. However, remember that words that are spelled correctly, but incorrectly used, will not be picked up by the spell checker.

For example: The school principle - instead of - The school principal.


The -ize form is generally regarded as American usage, but is in fact originally English, now perpetuated mainly in America.

The -ise form is becoming increasingly common in England and has become the accepted form for Australian English. When in doubt, use the ending cited in the Macquarie Dictionary.

I've been caught out with an incorrectly spelled word that hasn't been picked because as you say it had another meaning and the spelling was ok for that.
The ize and ise thing can be tricky as well because there is the odd word that does end ize.

I'm like Zondrae and type direct onto the forum, and apart from spelling mistakes sometimes end up with a load of gobly-gook that even I can't understand. I keep threatening to do the same as you, which makes sense, but never do.
