VALE DON CRANE and JOHN LEES

Post by Shelley Hansen » Sat Aug 26, 2023 9:26 am

Sadly, two of our bush poetry stalwarts have recently passed away.

Don Crane from Toowoomba, Queensland, was well known as an award winning writer, who was also a keen follower of bush poetry musters and gatherings.

John Lees and his wife Sandy of Bundaberg, Queensland, were the driving force behind the Bundy Muster for 22 years, which was attended by poets from all over Australia and also included the prestigious Bush Lantern trophy for written bush verse.

Tributes to Don and John including details of their achievements and a link to Don’s winning poems have been posted on the homepage of the main ABPA website.

Our deepest sympathy goes to their families at this sad time.
