Aah brings back memories, Stephen. The Old Man of Storr, the villiage of Uig and one of the most beautifully ominous mountain ranges I've ever seen - The Black Cuillins.

That lighthouse looks very similar to Rua Reidh which you can stay overnight at (we did this - fantastic experience) - it is further north on the mainland near Gairloch. Yes I just looked it up and it was built by David Stevenson as well.

Where else did your travels take you? Did you get further north. I lived over there for a couple of years in a little village called Ullapool on Loch Broom.

We were based in Falkirk, and our primary objective was watching Maggie's daughter, Gronya, play badminton for Australia, so we spent a lot of time in Glasgow. We got along to the Falkirk Folk Club on two successive Thursday evenings, though only managed to perform ourselves on the second occasion. The trip to Skye took us through the high country at Glencoe, and we stayed a couple of nights at Portree. We also managed to fit in a couple of day trips to Edinburgh and Loch Lomond. Both were great, especially Edinburgh. We hung out at the castle for a little while, and I was particularly thrilled to visit the childhood home of Robert Louis Stevenson, one of my absolute heroes. So much we didn't get to see, but plenty left over for next time!
