Young boy arrives home from school and his old man asks what was news. The boy replied "well dad I got a lead role in the school play, it's about a husband and wife and I play the husband". The Dad replied, "oh that's great son, but never mind, next year you might get a talking part!'

Oh Thanks for the laugh.

Now if I could just think of a witty reply to send.
It isn't true that women only talk to hear the sound of their own voice.
I know when I stayed with that Uncle and Aunt, Aunty could't ever get a word in because Uncle was always singing.
No not the current top 40 hits but good, robust, Italian arias. (or is that ariai?) anyway as I said we never talk just to her our own lips flap. So that renders the joke a little redundant, wouldn't you agree..

arie is the plural of aria.

Being a bloke I won't say more than that. ;)

Ah Zondrae! could that well have been the reason why the old Unc' sang. If Auntie got a word in, it may not have stopped either :o
And redundant, never while a few ladies I know can still draw breath! :)

You see, that is the problem - you guys are such bad communicators that we women have to put words into your mouths! :P
