Hi Brenda Joy - I just had an email this morning saying I came third so am very happy! I know the titles of first and second poems but not the authors yet, so just let me know if you'd like me to post them here.

That's great Catherine CONGRATULATIONS once again -- you are on a well deserved roll.
I'll get in touch with Sandy Lees and get the full results -- just didn't want to rush her as being a festival co-ordinator is full on especially as Sandy has all the judges and dozens of others as guests at her house too. :) I'll post them up as soon as they're available.
Lovely to know you got third.

For those of you who haven't caught up with the news, Shelley has won this year's Bush Lantern with a powerful poem about domestic violence. Maureen has posted a link to the poem on the ABPA Facebook page, so here it is: http://www.shelleyhansen.com/9/poem-of-the-month

Congratulations, Shelley...and also Catherine!

Cheers
David

Thank you so much David and congratulations to you, Catherine - and all the other prize recipients!

I was at the presentation in Bundaberg and let me tell you, no one was more astonished than I to hear my name and poem read out in first place! Sandy and Edna from the Bundy Poets had kept the secret well, although they told me they had been bursting with the news for about a week before the announcement!

Thank you for posting the link, David. Brenda has kindly proposed to post the poem on our Poetry page and I have also sent it to Neil for the magazine.

Cheers, Shelley

Wow Shelley, what an incredibly powerful, well written poem! It really gives you goosebumps and literally brings you to tears. I can just imagine how you must have felt when your name was called out, and am thrilled to bits for you - sincere congratulations on a most well deserved win!
