I KNOW THE GIRL FOR YOU

I KNOW THE GIRL FOR YOU
© John Peel 21/4/2013

There’s a little phrase that single men like me quite often hear,
“I think I know the perfect girl for you.”
They work hard to convince you it would be a great idea
to meet this girl and find out if it’s true.
“She’s beautiful, she’ll be your kind.”
Although it’s likely that you’ll find
she has no looks and has no mind –
you’d still say, “No,” if you were blind.
Yes, the very thought’s enough to make you blue.

But then again perhaps some day I may be proven wrong,
I may well find she’s just the girl for me,
my feelings for her may turn out to come through very strong
and once I might just find that I agree.
With luck, I’d catch her in my spell
and things would turn out pretty well,
I’d make a heaven from my hell –
my God, I’d have a tale to tell.
But still, I guess I’d have to wait and see!

I guess I'll just have to be patient for a little longer then, Heather :)

Meanwhile there are many homeless and lovable bitches just waiting at the local animal shelter who will give you their love unstintingly, expect very little in return, and will never nag you or whinge when you leave them alone. The only love that money can buy Mate

Other than that patience is a virtue found often in men but rarely in women.

Patience ? what is her last name Heather ?

Young mums with strollers or old women with wrinkles
school kids or grand mums with eyes filled with twinkles.
Cougars who will eat you, with no second glance
Girls with two left feet or those that can dance.

Girls who wear eye rings and studds through their nose
Rings in their bellies or way out there cloths
They are such intriqueing creatures be they round short or tall
I do not care what they look like I just lovem all.

Will never understand them but love them just the same.

Hey Bob, I think Heather might have been being cryptic in her initial reply. I think this is who I should be looking for:

PATIENCE VIRTUE
© John Peel 23/4/2013

There's a girl called Patience Virtue, I am seeking her you see
since someone said that she would be the perfect girl for me.
I'm not too sure where Patience lives or if it's in my town -
I could be searching here and there and looking up and down.

I am seeking Patience Virtue, she's a stunning looking sort -
perhaps she is a fitness freak who loves to play some sport.
If she cooks and cleans and irons that would be a bonus too.
Oh where, oh where is Patience Virtue? Gee I wish I knew!

I am seeking Patience Virtue but I don't know where to look,
would I find her on the street, inside a pub or in a book?
And if you know Patience Virtue, there is one thing I must say,
be a sport, give her my details mate and send her down my way!

 Love the poem John :) You should be reeling them in with that sense of humour.

Maybe we should organise a line-up!

I am glad you enjoyed the poem Heather. A line up of ladies, "The Farmer Wants a Wife" or "The Bachelor" style? Would they put a "The Poet Wants a Wife" on TV?
