35 - Pocket Rocket

Small was once a pin head,,
nano, now the talk,
graphite for transmission,
produced to talk the walk.
A multitude of choices,
silicon now, not sprocket,
millions made around the world,
the incredible pocket rocket.

A digital world explosion,
the fancy mobile phone,
fits in all our pockets,
searching, on the roam.
Everybody owns one,
those that don’t, soon will,
it’s not until you’ve got one,
that you pay the monthly bill.

Computer, phone and camera,
music, garage band,
touch screen with your fingers,
fits snugly in your hand.
Stored’n posted, round the world,
as fast as you can blink,
technology all in overdrive,
can talk to you, and think.

Bluetooth for the techno’s
WiFi to the world,
to calculate and educate,
apps installed unfurled.
Battery life resolving,
depends on what you buy,
charging cables obsolete,
the standard now Qi

Google maps and tracking,
YouTube, and TV,
and Siri, ask her anything,
she’s there for you and me.
Speaks in any language,
smart but doesn’t swear,
a torch for walking in the night,
always use with care.

A world of social networks,
so much to see and do,
TickTock, FaceTime, Facebook,
just to name a few.
All of this available,
on plans that you can buy,
signals beamed to satellites,
way up in the sky.

One time, people anywhere,
we’re spotted reading books,
face to face conversation,
travel, sport and cooks.
Eyes glued now to smart phones,
from people everywhere,
to sit in conversation,
either gone, or very rare.

Wallets in hip pockets gone,
cash has been replaced,
filing cabinet on your phone,
transfers paid from space.
Facial recognition,
and a scanner for a till,
swipe your phone for payment,
and it’s paid without a bill.
