51 - Apples 4 Apples

It’s on again, it’s crunch time,
it’s time to take a bite,
to line up at the polling booth,
be sure to mark it right.
Work hard to make a difference,
put in to earn your pay,
to leave the world a better place
turn up and have your say.

We live in a democracy,
it’s law for us to vote,
we have to pay our taxes
to keep us all afloat.
So line up for a sausage,
and remember 1.5
and cough into your elbow,
to keep us all alive.

Pollies throwing millions,
finger pointing, blame,
like children in a playground,
around and around again.
They must think we’re all stupid,
they can’t see past their nose,
It’s time to put them on the spot
and keep them on their toes.

Weeks and weeks of spruiking,
there’s nothing left to spend,
advertising corflute signs
at last has come to end.
Early vote and posted,
relaxed at home with beer,
no stress for me on voting day
all done and COVID clear.
