4 weeks to go...june long weekend...If you have'nt been to gulgongs annual henry lawson festival..it is truly a unique experience, with a full weekend of poetry and poetry workshops with a museum of henry lawson nostalgia.we even had a real live henry lawson lookalike there last year..he got up several times to perform and was fantastic....it is like going back in time as the town as been preserved in authentic style of early gold mining days when henry was just a lad...it is heritage listed and the small town hall theatre where saturday performances are judged(as well as poets breakfast and other events) is an experience in itself and worth making the trip for .. i promise you ,you won't regret it, i went with 3 non poet guests last year and they loved every minute of it.. the same weekend at Perisher/Smiggins come and enjoy a long weekend of music and poetry. The Snowy Mountains of Music Festival. Three poets breakfasts and two poetry competitions. Enter on the day for the Snowy Cup for reciting or enjoy Limericks. The winner of the Broken Ski for written poetry will also be announced.
