The winner of week 9 was A Touch of Frost by Darryl Cooper.

There was a STACK of poems to get through this week and all the judges agreed that it was so close any one of the top half a dozen or so poems could of won.

High amongst the placings and amongst those read out on air this morning were The Stolen Years by Zondrae King and Alfies Technicolour Ford by Leonie Parker. Right amongst the mix also were Hannah's Moon by David Campbell and Sir, Have You Seen My Dad by Sue Pearce.

Well done to all comers :)

One more week, then the Grand Final.

Cheers, Marty

The final weekly winner (week 10) has been chosen. It's big Geoff Mann with his poem The Shreiks of Scrubby Creek (yes an eerily similar title to Brenda Joy's winning poem from week 8 The Sheik of the Scrubby - but the themes could not be more polar opposite).

Amongst the judges placings were poems by David J Delaney, Manfred Vijars and Glenny Palmer.

A big thanks to all the ABPA members and users of this forum who submitted their work - it's made this little local radio competition so much more healthier and vibrant.

Cheers, Marty

thanks for the regular updates Marty North ,

it has certainly been a great outlet for the ABPA and forum members.

If there are recordings of some of the poems read out is it possible to get hold of them ? I'm sure others would also like to hear their work being read out , and given that ABCFNQ are yet to get live streaming we miss all the poetry

Well done mate

Marty South

Yes, thank you so much Marty - you certainly have done a grand job as liaison officer/communications network.

I am feeling a bit wary though. Scrubby Creek actually runs through our land and I wasn't too concerned with the Sheik as he is relatively harmless despite his grand title but the SHRIEKS
- I probably won't sleep tonight.

Cheers
B-J

good on you Marty for your constant updates re this one- and love the photo, though might I suggest less is always more - its such a shame to cover a bloke with as much talent as you have in the PR area

Congratulations to Geoff on being this weeks winner - well done (my error before misread Martys post  )

Marty, that picture is most disturbing, and even more so, knowing Bob has printed it out and has it on his wall!!!!!

No, Maureen, sorry if that came across like that, but Geoff is the weekly winner. All 10 weekly winners are into the Grand Final which the poor sods of judges have to pick next week.

And regarding the recordings, MartySth . . I'll sound ( oh my aching pun!) them out about that as there were stacks of poems recorded and aired over the 10 weeks. I'll see if they are on file and accessable or able to be sent.

Marty

Should I bring my own leaves Marty or do you have enough to share?

I don't know if I feel safer with that photo if it was taken in the scrub - no doubt that had something to do with the shrieks from the Scrubby - good job it is a good sized leaf.
