Reminder - Cervantes Written Bush Poetry Competition - closing soon

Post by Shelley Hansen » Fri Sep 20, 2019 12:00 pm

Hi All

I have been asked to post a reminder that the Cervantes (WA) Festival of Art Written Bush Poetry Competition is closing on 4 October.

Entry is by online submission. The only conditions applicable to the bush poetry competition are that poems must be up to 40 lines, must not have won first prize in an "open" competition (novice is fine), and must be submitted electronically. Updated information from the judge is that the stipulated 16 pt font is not a necessary prerequisite.

Full details including link to the online entry form are on the Events and Results page of the ABPA website.

Cheers
Shelley

Thanks for posting this Shelley.
Looking forward to the organisers sending me lots more entries for judging.
Of course, poets can submit to both the WA competitions closing early October -- Toodyay and Cervantes. They are separate from each other as far as organisers and judges are concerned. Don't be daunted by the conditions. As Shelley has posted, above, the only conditions applicable to our genre are -- submit online, line limit of 40 and no first prize winning poems in Open competitions -- Novice winning poems can be submitted as can previously published poems.
