Good point Marty but I guess that's the risk you take by publishing on the net in the first place. Still, some people (moi) like to own a book rather than a collection of something on the computer.

G'day Marty
There is not much there to stop anyone printing work that you have put up on the web on these forums. Having the list of poems might make it easier for someone to find them to do this, but they have always been able to do exactly as you have suggested anyway. It is very easy to pull up all the posts of a certain user (if they are registered to use the site), if they are looking by works by a particular forum member. These are some of the reasons why I have only put a small selection of my poems on the web. Many of my better poems are not currently available on the web, but will be available in my book when I get around to getting it finished. For that matter, many of the poems that I have placed on the web won't be in my book, so they compliment each other in that sense.

Most of the poems I have posted are in my book " Bullshit Bulldust And Bob ' and most sales come where I perform. Never have a problem selling them Marty. Depends on the market you are aiming at .

An see both sides of the debate. Personally I am with Marty on this one as I do not post poems, well rarely at least that are pm my CDs or in books. One of my main reasons is so performers can't just help themselves to my performance works as has happened so often in the past and use the material in comps, paid shows and even on their own CDs without permission and a lot of the time without acknowledgment. So I prefer to post poems that may be topical, fun, and no big loss if pirated. But that is just me and the reason also that I won't be putting a link up to all my poems. Others feel different Ans that is their right. No winners here, just different motivations.

Re: Poem listings on site
A couple of years ago I received an offer from a major publisher for inclusion of a number of my poems for children in a big anthology. This would not have happened if I had not posted the poems on this web-site. They were my best poems, too.
