Come on people I'm sure we can come up with some funny poems just for this week.

Been too much doom and gloom in the world of late.

OK ... I'll kick it off with some more 'doom' ...

Birdie
(March 2006)

Little bird, pretty yellow, out strolling this day
cruising road's centre-line - failed to obey -
the warnings of Mummy. Here comes a car. SPLAT!
A glance in rear mirror ... awwwwww birdie’s all flat.

... and in keeping with Manfred's gloomy funny poem ...

A peanut sat on the railway track,
his heart was all a flutter.
Around the corner came a train -
then - choof, choof ... peanut butter!!!

OK, so here's a brief political (and medical) offering:

An Aural Exam

Two doctors followed Hippocratic habit
and checked those mighty ears of Tony Abbott.
Each took a brand new otoscope and shone
its penetrating light through Tony’s scone.
And then their startled cries they failed to smother,
because…you’re right…those doctors saw each other!

Poor Erry

Some years ago I had a mate
who had a very nasty trait
of being really hairy.

He couldn’t help his hairy state
you see, it was a family trait;
his dad was super hairy.

He also had a funny gait;
his legs were bowed from all the weight
that comes from being hairy.

His case created much debate;
they pondered how he’d procreate
‘cause he was way too hairy.

In time it was decreed by fate
and he became the dad of eight
all equally as hairy!

Silly I know - but I finished it and now it's off my "to-do" list.... :roll:
