Nev, given that islam and israel stemmed from the seed of Abraham - and BOTH worship the same god (of Abraham) AND each are deemed to be 'right' according to the adherants, could it be said that the god of Abraham speaks with a forked tongue ?? ...

Re: DESTROYING THE SHELTER
Agree Neville, too many of words are now used incorrectly and through their incorrect use have assumed different and
misleading meanings.
My pet hate is icon or iconic which in its correct form means statue or image but is now used in terms of "he is an icon of the game" or something similar.

Re: DESTROYING THE SHELTER
Israel and the Arab nations trace their ethnic origins to Abraham.
Islam ( Islam means Submission ) has an origin far removed from Abraham's time. The founder of Islam , Mohammed, appeared some 2300 years later than Abraham I think. As far as I know there are no ancient documents before 300 AD that link Mohammed to Abraham ( approx 2000 BC ) .
Writings from the time of Moses ( 1400 BC ) indicate a link between Abraham and Israel.
It could be that somebody speaks with a forked tongue. I'll leave that for you to work out.
Whether the god of Israel is identical to the god of Islam is a subject that people have written large and learned articles on, I don't think we could settle that here.

Re: DESTROYING THE SHELTER
Nevvie, get it right Mate, Islam is an Abrahamic religion. They also believe in Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, and Jesus. Their 'submission' is to the God of Abraham.
Jacob and Esau were scrapping from birth and their progeny are still into it. Both sides the Muzies and the Chrissies demonise eachother mercilessly. A pox on BOTH their houses.
Thank God for secularism, and thank God I'm an atheist.

Just to get back to poetry Manfred
did you know that The Koran is a poem. The word Koran means " Recitation ". so there.
And I have read it through in English translation. Some people apparently can recite the whole thing from memory and in the Arabic language, even if they cannot understand Arabic.
