Bobbo's Wish.

BOBBO’S WISH

Old Bobbo lived at Hervey Bay and loved to wet a line
and Fraser Island within reach; it suited him just fine.
Last week he found to his surprise a bottle in the sea;
Unusual and rather old which filled his heart with glee.

Then when he pulled the cork on out a plume of smoke arose
and there as large as life was this huge genie in strange clothes.
“You little ripper Bobbo mate, I’m happy as can be.
I thought I was interned for good but now at last I’m free.”

You know you get a wish for that, but just one so to speak,
so think about it carefully, stay on a winning streak.
Old Bobbo he was really chuffed and what he wanted most
was cutting down his travelling time from Fraser to the coast.

A bridge that spanned that piece of sea to Bobbo seemed sublime
and having such a thing in place would grant more fishing time.
The Genie though he balked a bit and said “Now Bobbo son,
you sure that is the wish you want as you just get the one?”

Well Bobbo paused to think on that and thought for quite a while,
then suddenly the penny dropped and brought about a smile.
“The one thing that I’d like to know, but has escaped me though,
is wond’ring how all women tick. Now that I’d love to know!

Just how they’re thinking when they give the silent treatment thing
and why they cry when nothing’s wrong has got me beat by jing.
Too why then do they snap and snarl when you try helping out
and what’s make women happy like has left me deep in doubt.

A wish like that would make a bloke the wisest man around
‘cause finding answers to such things are not so easily found.”
The genie look bewildered though and didn’t seem to sure.
“Was that a two or four lane bridge you wanted mate before!”

Sometimes a reader just wants something simple to have a smile at Shelly and verse is a different way of sharing old tales.
