As Marty says, this is one of the world's great conundrums and the variety of replies testifies to that. I think I'll give the caramello prize to Dave - he was the only one who got both mist and fog in one room at the same time!!!
I also agree with Nerelie, if I ran 200m (nope that's just downright impossible), if I ran 100m (still impossible), ok, if I ever manage to get a wobble up for any distance, it would definitely be sweat, but you beat me to the punch!
After considering all the above information, there is no reason why my poem can't be in the mist. The man disputing the fact wasn't in the poem, therefore he can't determine visibility distance, or whether the said moisture is rising, suspended or falling, and there was definitely no boats going aahhooggaaa so I'm happy to leave it as mist.
