How about

I had written him a letter which I had for want of better knowledge
sent to where I met him in Newcastle years ago.
He was stripping when I knew him so I sent the letter to him
Just on spec addressed as follows Nancy of the Underflow.

And an answer came directed in a writing unexpected
for I think the same was written with Mascara from a jar
Was his life partener who wrote it and verbatim I will quote it
Nancy's headed down to Sydney duckie to the Gay and Lesbian Mardie Gras

Been busy. Neck and back playing up so spent half my day at the chiropractor - well it seemed to take half a day.

I think your metre needs some attention Bobbo but it will polish up real good. Maybe find another town other than Newcastle.
