The Green Thing
Amazeing how the younger generation blames older folk for all the polution in the world.
Heres a few facts
We recycled all our bottles for a refund and they either refilled or used to produce new bottles
We saved all our old newspapers to cash in for pocket money at the butchers or fish and chip shop.
We did not have power guzzling escalators or lifts in every building, We walked up stairs.
We did not use gas guzzling monsters to get about. We rode bikes everywhere or walked or used public transport.
We did not use disposable nappies we used then\m over and over again and then they were relegated to cleaning rags.
Most of our cloths were hand me downs except for a good set to go out in. and we dried our cloths on the outside line not in some machine that burns heaps of electricity.
If we were fortunate enough to habve a TV or Radio we did only have one.
Every thing we did in the kitchen was done bt hand not by some labour saving electricty burning, must have gadget.
We used a push mower to mow the yard and recycled all the clipping as fertilizer.
We drank water from a tank not from a plastic bottle or cup.
We refilled our pens instead of throwing them away and buying a new one, and the same went for shaving razors.
We talked to people face to face or wrote them a letter to share the news.
Gees it's a pity that we did not have the green thing back when we were young !!!!!

How very true this is. I'm sure it could be put into a poem.

Don't pine too much for the old days Bob. If the Greens have their way we will be doing all of those things again.

Cant help thinking, if things were so good in our youth it was probably a reflection on our parents and their hand in our upbringing.
Given the state of our youth, I'm wondering, have we dropped the ball?
