Rhiannon

And the world turns without you,
Just like its always done,
Stealing from me memories,
Of when your life begun,

It hurts not having known you,
To think that you’re alone,
The precious love I have here waiting,
That never shall be shown,

I let you slip Rhiannon,
You never got the chance,
To come to life and love with us,
And share with with us your dance,

And the world turns without you,
It’s eating at my heart,
Stealing from me memories,
And tearing me apart,

I feel ashamed to call your name,
I don’t deserve I should,
I’d give my life to bring you back,
If somehow that I could,

I never held you Rhiannon,
Not even as you died,
Cowardly I ran away,
Just sat alone, and cried,

And the world turns without you,
Not knowing what it’s lost,
A selfish act on my account,
And you are what it’s cost,

I shall not know forgiveness,
Although I’m sure you do,
I’ll spend my life remembering,
The tragedy of you,

And my world stops without you,
When I think of what I done,
I love you so Rhiannon,
You were my special one.

Mick words from the heart bring a tear to those who understand and there are lots of us that do.

Cheers Dave.

Hopefully Mick, getting it out like that is part of the healing process. Well written.

Very touching Mick. So close to the heart. Beautiful images fill the mind. My kinda poem even though it is sad but I feel expressing these thoughts in words does help the healing process.

Nice work.

It's a beautiful poem.

You loved and still love her more than life itself Mick and that's all anyone could ask. If she was anything like her father she knows Mick, she knows.

Uncanny that you should post this today. My niece Rhiannon born and died 3 August in similar circumstances. I've been thinking of her a lot this week.

Mick, my heart goes out to you all. A truly beautiful poem and a wonderful tribute to Rhiannon.
None of us can ever predict how we would react to the events that tear our heart to pieces - and self-forgiveness is the first step towards healing for, without a doubt, such a beautiful soul as Rhiannon will have already forgiven.

It is great to see you back, but I'm sorry it is under such sad circumstances.
Take care
Irene

A beautiful poem Mick -
This one comes from a time long gone but not forgotten -

TO LIAM
by Brenda Joy

You were there, however unbelievable,
warm within the confines of our love,
fulfilment of our half-forgotten hopes.

And we grew closer as the night hours passed
sharing in the natural magic glow
as prelude to how we would grow
TOGETHER

What called to you from unknown realms
that you felt bound to leave us?

What took your spirit far
to fill someone else’s need?

We’d waited long for you
little stranger.

In the cold light of our pain,
the aftermath of your presence
finds us mourning
not the embryo
but the vision of you incarnate
and our dream for our life
TOGETHER.

How beautiful!

I can understand how you would never forget. The memories probably do not come so frequently but the heartache is always there.
So moving how other peoples' pain can touch us all, through such beautiful words.

Your little poem is sad but beautiful. It touched me -Thank-you for sharing.

Cheers

Dolly
