GRANDMOTHER GIVING OF HEART

G'day All,
I've been away for a while doing other things. I wish I had more time to write but that can't be helped right now. I wrote this in 06 when my gran passed away after a long life of devotion to her family. She was a very proud and kind lady and I hope this did her justice... Please enjoy ........
GRANDMOTHER GIVING OF HEART:
New morning light shines through a near side window
It casts its illuminating warmth upon the room, chair with pillow
A proud lady awakes from her room, a vacant kitchen receives her quick stare
This new morning has arrived again yet she’s seen oh to many to care
Slowly she now shuffles to her favorite chair and quietly sits
She can see her house and kitchen how silent of life, she quietly quips
Hot tea, wheat bix and toast, provide her usual morning substance
Far cry from mornings where family and time, would just busily flurry pass
She would read events on paper, hear radio and see film broadcast
She would shake her head, life seemed so simple and carefree in times past
Her youthful memories of a great world war coming too an end
News media declares a new age when war to end all wars was penned
The world now suffers a darkness due to mismanagement and global greed
A family is captured by suffocating cloak of depression, seemed never freed
Her life remembers the few working trying to care, shelter and feed
Her family struggles in hardship yet always wishing for a simple kind deed
A second war grips, but happiness fills her heart; he’s loving of her till they part
Their union brings two angels both to their proudest joys and delight
Together they raises their girls providing them guidance and love of heart
Suddenly death strikes near, her man is gone, her heart is torn apart
Gran's broken heart is given to her girls now beautiful for all the world to see
Both daughters marry men of their hearts, their giving joy is always seen
Yet, joy is short lived, her heart can’t help her first daughters unkind sickness
Her heart now tells her she must step in and help raise the twin children
Her heart and soul is given to raising another family with twin boys of height
They bring her endless joy, wonderment, smiles and sometimes a mild fright
Years quickly pass, changes come calling her heart to seek of a distant wish
The new century begins, eyes reflect tiredness, but a heart full of youthful bliss
With all my heart, my grandmother provided endless love and comfort for me
A never ending love, spirit and sacrifice never discriminating and always free
Her kind soul is amongst us, her wonderful smile remembered now we must part
Gran's eyes now closed, heaven please receive my grandmother giving of heart.
