Life is Too Short

This time of the year I generally have a good look at myself and do nothing about it.
So I wrote this poem to myself.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

Life is too short for our anger or hate
Too few are our days.
Carbuncles of pique can open a gate
so setting our ways.
Space between words is a gulf in the mind.
Words must have a voice
lest sleeping they lie and never will find
the links of a choice.
Life is too short and our time is so near,
though endless the road.
Loved ones can pass while we look to the rear.
Ahead lies our load.
So I wrote this poem to myself.
