BEAVER'S BISTRO

The sign above the door said 'Beaver's Bistro'
Just grab a plate and come and have a feed
There's grub enough to feed a hungry army
And the tucker's plenty good, sir, yes indeed

Beaver manned the stove and ran the kitchen
Mrs Beaver served the hungry mob
Little Beav' went round collecting dishes
That was his bestest ever favourite job

All the patrons raved about was Beaver's
Couldn't fault the service or the price
Fish and chips or lambs fry on a weekday
Sunday special curried prawns and rice

I knew Beaver best as my dear father
They called me Little Beav from way back when
Members and the staff at Lambton Bowlo
Knew Beaver as both President and friend

The bistro is no longer known as Beaver's
Outside bowlers roll up on a green
Named in Neville 'Beaver' Cropper's honour
The best damned Beaver Lambton's ever seen

Thanks Maureen

Beaver's Bistro did exist at Lambton Bowling Club and was run by my parents while Dad was President of the club.

I was honoured to attend a ceremony where the bowling green was named in my father's honour upon his passing several years ago.

:D
