homework w/e 1/4/13

Post by Neville Briggs » Tue Mar 19, 2013 9:43 am

SAME OLD GAME

Shuffling queues and gritty wind,
Same old game.
Cold hard seats and noisy yobbos,
Same old game.
Lukewarm pies at rip-off prices,
Referee the mob despises —
Penalise their team, surprise us !
Same old game.

I'll stay home and watch the TV,
Same old game.
Won't have beer in plastic cups,
Same old game.
Somehow, no-trys are not plain
To this ref. without a brain —
So our team gets robbed again !
Same old game.

Not a footy fan Neville?  :o I love this - sounds like a mantra that the crowd should be yelling out at the game, mind you the purists would disagree they'd be chanting "Go you good things - yeah Broncos"

Cheers

G/day Neville
I feel that way at times myself,
for most types of football.

I like the naturalness of this, if that makes sense.
