Homework w/e 15/4/13
WALLANGARRA
We have a red railway station
on the tracks at Wallangarra.
The roof is a little bit rusty
but it's heritage brick construction.
It features fine restaurant dining
where soldiers once rode to war,
so while munching on sushi
and salmon bruschetta,
there is time for some quiet reflection;
as no trains use this track anymore.

Well not very often these days Neville but they do still run some Heritage day steam train trips from here and they are popular.
I guess you actually have to be standing on the station grounds to soak up the atmosphere of the place - it is a wonderful place and I doubt it has changed much if at all over the years but it is pretty well maintained. The steam train trips to Tenterfield no longer run to the best of my knowledge as one of the old heritage listed bridges has been deemed unsafe to carry the weight of the trains but they still use the Warwick Stanthorpe line and you can see on the video clip as the train goes through the Stanthorpe station the crates of apples stacked waiting to go down to Brisbane to the Golden Circle Cannery.

Thanks Maureen. I am not sure if I have the rhythm going right because I don't know how to pronounce Wallangarra as she is spoken up there.
