Homework Saved

Post by Bob Pacey » Mon Sep 16, 2013 10:58 am

Saved

The white tipped sharks were circling around the sinking boat
three hours we had been bailing just to keep the thing afloat.
To leave the estuary just on dusk had been a foolish ploy
now we were facing night time terrors beyond the marker buoy.

We could see the shore lights shining on the turgid water of the bay
we could hear the sound of music from some party far away.
But we might as well be floating on some far off ocean swell
The tide was slowly turning how far we'd drifted none could tell.

Then through the building gloom I saw a brilliant flash of light
We only had one flare left and a single shot to get it right.
The flare burned bright above us turning darkness into day
the flashing light turned brighter as the trawler turned our way.

The purpose in life is to have fun.
After you grasp that everything else seems insignificant !!!
