(Hope I get it right this time!)
Wicked Horns
The world of jazz forever mourns
the men who played those wicked horns…
the likes of Satchmo, Dizzy, Miles,
in all their varied playing styles
took trumpet-playing to the heights,
and put their names way up in lights.
Now in the places angels sing
you’ll hear those mighty kings of swing,
those virtuosos of the horn,
their syncopated riffing borne
on flights of fancy through the air
in answer to a muso’s prayer.

Now if I was pedantic I'd insist on " virtuosi "

You are indeed on a roll! I guess this will teach me not to attempt to put all the prompts into one poem and also to try to think more outside the box - mind you, I'm not very good at that! Love this David.

No challenge there Catherine it is easy to pick one prompt and use it or maybe tow or three but the object of the exercise is to get the juices working.
I really thought someone would use Final Moments to produce a masterpiece. Oh hang on there is still time ?
I just love the challenge of trying to weave a story out of all of them at once.
I like this one better then the first Dave but then I love my bit of jazz.
