Homework 16/11/2015 Take My Hand

Post by Bob Pacey » Mon Nov 16, 2015 9:12 pm

Take My Hand

I said "Take my hand and I'll show you the way
if you listen closely you will see".
"There is nothing you can't do, no feat out of reach
it's as easy as counting to three".

"At the end of the day there is no one to blame
if we all fail to reach for the sky".
"I've struggled along near every day of my life
and perhaps I will do till I die".

She gazed up at me with her sparkling blue eyes
and I knew that she just could not fail.
The hardships to come would quickly melt away
as along life's long road she set sail.

We looked at the sky as it cleared from the rain
the rainbow of red white and blue.
She kissed my cheek lightly and whispered " Thank You "
the lump in my heart quickly grew.

I knew I'd not be here to guide her and help
as my time here on earth nears it end.
But I felt that she'd listened and would follow my lead
my grandchild and my closest friend.
