Homework March 27: The Greenhouse Effect
The Greenhouse Effect
I met her in a greenhouse when blossoms were in bloom;
her smile was like a beacon that drove away the gloom,
and through one lazy summer we wandered hand in hand,
so when we got to autumn she sought a golden band,
but I was far from ready and thought that we should part,
which left her loudly claiming she had a broken heart.
There was a change in climate (for “substance” didn’t fit),
with much precipitation, which meant that I got hit
quite hard, for she was angry, and knocked me to the floor,
where I lay, bruised and battered, and feeling very thor,
but lacking clouds and anvils, striations and those twins,
so terrible at homework, and punished for my sins!

Thanks Val, Wendy and Catherine. Lacking time, I cheated quite a bit with this one, and my only other excuse is that I've recently written a serious poem on this topic so felt in the mood for something a little bit lighter and on the thilly thide!
Cheers

Love its quirkiness, David! As I said in another post, it’s something I could easily associate with “Den”

Serves your right David for leading the lady on.
But you still managed to make a good fist of the prompts I thought.
It seems the lady made good use of hers as well.
