WEAPONS OF DESTRUCTION
We loved Steve Smith
We loved our Aussie cricketers
How those tongues of praise and admiration
wove an aura for the hero.
Then Smith sinned.
How soon the smooth tongues
of flattery and praise
gave out hate.
Can tongues of adulation be the same
that are forked tongues
of venomous snakes.
We know a cheat when we see one
We know a cad when we see one
We know a shameful shonk when we see one.
Of course we do,
we just look in the mirror

Good on you Neville
a nice sting in the tail with this one and we know about people who live in glass houses and the effect that cricket balls have on them.
Good use of the prompts ... going in a different direction, thinking outside the square and very topical as well. Well done you

Yes, absolutely agree with Maureen as regards the truth of that last sting in the tail. Our words can certainly be the cruellest weapons of destruction.

Thanks for the encouragement Maureen. Thanks Catherine. It is not regular meter and rhyming but the message came to me like that.

G/day Neville
I think you nailed it with the last two lines.
It's the hypocrisy of all the other past cheats who are now condemning this lot that stun me most.

Wise words Neville,
