Hi again Terry
I thought of your poem a couple of weeks ago as we undertook a 3 day flying tour of Lake Eyre in flood. We travelled in a single engine Cessna and our pilot told us to be aware that he sometimes had to take evasive action to avoid birds.
At one point, right over the "inland sea", he swooped suddenly to avoid an oncoming wedge tailed eagle, which continued its journey safely, right past our window. What a sight!
Cheers
Shelley

Re: June Homework 'Feathered Trophies'
Sounds like a great trip Shelley,
I have been making tentative inquiries about what's available from over here.
I have also looked at the satellite photo's but they are a bit too far off,
to give a real idea of how much water is there but did see one note saying water was dropping,
in one area.
Eagle have been known to attack hang gliders.
Thanks for the update Shelley
Cheers Terry
