The amber beads are hanging from the mirror near the bed
The ashes have been spread upon the ground.
He still can see her smiling face when ere his eyes are closed
a sweeter love then hers he's never found.

The gate keepers stand silent waiting for the time to come
when his life upon this earth will be no more.
His features chopped and broken by the lash will hide his tears
the times now come to even up the score.

They march him to the gallows that stand silent in the yard
The hood then covers up his furrowed face.
The trapdoor clicks then opens and his life is quickly snuffed
He leaves this earth alone without a trace.

Was just one of those that had a mind of its own Terry. I only had the first line stuck in my head and the rest just seemed to follow.

I looked at the list and could not see the need to use the other prompts just because they were there. Said all I wanted with what I put down.

Funny you should say that Neville did a show last night for a group of RSL fellas from the gold coast and did three what i would call serious poems and all were well recieved.
